Albatros Rexhaj is an author, playwright, analyst, and a writer living with PTSD.
Trained in dramaturgy and screenwriting, he first became known for his literary prose, where he weaves art, philosophy, and the texture of everyday life into a language that is clear, precise, and deeply humane. His work often reflects the inner architecture of trauma — how a person fights, fractures, rebuilds, and learns to carry what cannot be left behind.

His creative philosophy is rooted in humanism and moral clarity. Much like the philosophers of Antiquity who carried their thought into the public square, Albatros has brought philosophy — and the honesty of lived experience, including PTSD — into the digital sphere, today’s new agora. He has built a wide community of readers who find in his voice something direct, unadorned, and courageously true.

At the Jubilee “Prishtina 2013” Book Fair, he received the Author of the Year award. His plays, In Search of an Exit and The Angel of Death, have been staged by the National Theatre of Kosovo, the Metropol Theatre in Tirana, and the “Muharrem Qena” Theatre in Mitrovica.

Academically, he holds broad training in dramaturgy, law, international relations, and public-sector management. He completed his doctoral studies (Ph.D.) in national-security studies, bringing together the philosophical needs of the individual with strategic analysis — a synthesis shaped, in part, by the psychological consequences of growing up in war and its aftermath.

Professionally, for nearly three decades he served as a political and security affairs officer in major international institutions, contributing to regional security, counter-extremism efforts, and public-policy development. His formation was further strengthened through programs at UNITAR, DCAF Geneva, the University of Basel, the German Police Academy, and other institutions devoted to security and state-building.

Today, he devotes himself to writing, independent research, and projects that honor human integrity, the weight of memory, and the quiet discipline of living with PTSD.
